Automated Tasking
If you have any repetitive tasks within Vision that
you would like automated, whether it be for a one off project or
continual usage, we would be pleased to write it for you.
These little scripts can be written to perform in
many different ways, i.e. your task could run when a specific window
opens, or you may have it assigned to a hotkey on your keyboard or even
a floating toolbar button.
There are also many task driven scripts on our
website using Microsoft Excel i.e. to open specific external files and
automatically write out complicated formulas.
The possibilities are virtually endless and there are
also many freely available scripts on our website and listed below for
you to download and use within Vision or any Microsoft Office
application.
However, if you aren't able to find what you need on
our website, and would like us to write a specific script for your Vision practice, please email
us detailing what action you would like carried out within Vision or
within a Microsoft Office application.
Listed below are a variety of free task driven
scripts written to provide additional support for Vision users.
Quick jump Index

Please
note: due to a Vision update, some of these scripts may no longer
function as they should!
Please
email us as to which script has now stopped working and we will
resolve it immediatly and publish the new version.
Download Instructions
If on a hosted server please make sure that you download and
install this within your hosted environment, i.e. you must be able
to see the Vision icon on your desktop.
- Click the big green "Start Download Now!"
button
- Click "Save" at the Security Warning screen
prompt
- Select a folder to save the file into and click the "Save"
button
- When download is complete click "Open Folder"
button. ( or open the folder yourself, i.e. previous step)
- Just double-click on any of the hotkey executable to run
them.
Note: Some of these scripts may have a right mouse click option
to either save to desktop or start up folder. However, if on a
hosted site you cannot save it to the start up folder, therefore you
must use either the desktop or add a link from within Consultation
Manager.
Create a quick access link in Vision
Consultation Manager
This will provide a button for your hotkey in a guideline or
local index.
- Open Consultation Manager
- Press F12 on your keyboard to open the
"Local Guideline Index"
- Click on the "Maintain" button in the
guideline toolbar (shown as a pencil, ruler and set square)
- Click "Application" button on the new
toolbar shown on the right of the screen
- Click "Browse" button and locate the folder
where you saved the program

Hotkey"
- If you like buttons remove the tick from "Display as icon"
- Click "OK"
- Click on the "Maintain" button in the
guideline toolbar (shown as a pencil, ruler and set square) to
save
You have now successfully created a link to the hotkey for all
vision users in your surgery and you can use this process to add as
many programs website addresses and hotkeys as you wish to a
guideline for easy access within Consultation Manager.
This small script has been requested to help reset the applied date
to today when registering patients.
In particular those that need re-registering i.e. have been sitting in unacknowledged acceptances, as it will
retain the original date and may subsequently then be submitted in
the wrong quarter. The script will only show a warning message if
the applied date is not set to todays date, informing
the user that they may press F5 to reset the Applied date to today.

Updated: 20/06/2011 - Version 1.00
As Vision doesn't have a spell checker, this
little script allows you to enter your consultation text into any
word processor that does have a spell checker (like Microsoft Word),
you can then press either Ctrl+Insert on your keyboard to copy all the text into a
Vision Medical History entity or WinFlag+Insert to copy any
text you have highlighted.
Note: Both shortcut keys will now append data.
You must have a consultation started and if no medical history entity is found it will
open one automatically, otherwise it will use the one already open.
Once downloaded double-click to start the
program. If you need a reminder of the shortcut keys right mouse
click on the icon in the notification area.

Updated: 08/04/2011 - Version 1.01
This little program will automatically move the
yellow reminder to a position on the screen set by you.
It will only move the reminder if the
consultation is started. However, there is also a shortcut key (Win+F6)
that will move it to your preferred position instantly no matter what.
To set up your preferred position; run the program
and then right mouse click on the icon in the notification area and
select "Enter Reminder Position". The set up screen will display your
current screen resolution, which you will need to keep within. In the
example below this would be within 1280 x 1024, and as the reminder
needs to be seen on the screen you will also need to keep your settings
about 100 pixels below these figures. Just keep changing the figures
until you are happy.

Updated: 16/01/2012 - Version 1.10
Version: 1.1 - Now opens the reminder if it isn't open by pressing
the shortcut key Win+F6
This executable will automatically add a patient warning text to
every patient defined in a patient group.
- You may replace all current text with your new text
- Prefix your new message to any current text already in a patient
warning
- Clear all patient warnings for each patient in the group.

Updated: 12/12/2010 - Version 1.00
This executable will automatically display a warning message at the
bottom of the Consultation Manager screen, every time it detects a
registration status of Walk-in centre in an open consultation.
Once activated, right mouse click on the icon in the notification
area to add a desktop shortcut or add it to your startup menu.

Updated: 12/12/2010 - Version 1.00
This little toolbar provides
a quick way to reach some of the second level menu items in Consultation
Manager.
This is a floating toolbar that you may
position anywhere on the screen.
It also includes shortcut keys: (Alt+T) | (Alt+L) | (Alt+R) | (Alt+S)
Electronic Test Request Form | Print Specimen Label | Default
Referral List | CHD/CVD Risk Calculator

Updated: 02/11/2011 - Version 2.00
If you right mouse click on the toolbar icon shown in
the notification area, you may create a desktop shortcut or if on a LAN
(i.e. you have your own server) add it to your Microsoft Windows Startup
folder. There is also an option to show or hide the toolbar. The
shortcut keys work in either state.
This hotkey will quickly show the preferred pharmacy
setup in Vision for the patient within Consultation Manager (if at all),
rather than having to keep referring to the preferences tab on the
patient details screen. It will also take you immediately to the set up
screen to amend or add a pharmacy.
It reads the information from the Patient Details
tab, therefore this screen must exist in the patient record view.
Once you have double-clicked the executable a pill
icon will be displayed by the system clock, which has some right mouse
click features to enable you to add a shortcut icon to your desktop or
add to the startup folder if you manage your own surgery server.
The hotkey is Ctrl+Home on the
keyboard.
These are examples of a message prompt (shown below) when you press this
key.

Updated: 01/09/2010 - Version 2.00
This hotkey can be added to your Startup folder or
Desktop and when run will just sit in the notification area waiting for
you to press Win+F11 on your keyboard ("Win" refers to the Microsoft
Windows flag on your keyboard).
It will always maximise DXS and go straight to the
Home page; which details all the sections with regards to the
highlighted code in Vision. Alternatively, if no Read code is
highlighted it will open on the "What's New "section in DXS.
To add to Startup folder or Desktop just right mouse
click on the DXS icon in the notification area (by the clock or bottom
right section of the screen)

any IOS window if they appear in either Consultation Manager or Registration.

add it to your startup folder, or desktop (if on a remote server).
You may also temporarily Suspend it or toggle the keyboard Pause key.

This program has been designed to copy mobiles numbers exported from
Vision into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and prepare it to be pasted
into the NHS.net SMS message recipient textbox to enable bulk messaging.
Within Excel it will ignore any #N/A statements, the column header
which must only be called "Mobile" and add a semi-colon separator
between each mobile number.

Updated: 07/03/2010
To be used in conjunction with the
Future Appointment Wizard Program.
This little script was first designed by Kevin Mullan (INPS Trainer)
but has now been completely re-written by us to enable a patient
workgroup to be created from either PAT_ID/NHS No/CHI No
When using data within Microsoft Excel, this new all in one version
will automatically:
- Remove spaces from NHS numbers as this is required for Vision
- Pack out the CHI number to a 10 digit format, by adding any
missing leading zeros which Excel removes
Updated 11/12/2011 Tested up to DLM380

Version 3.0

This hotkey will automatically record 3 types of consent with regards
to prescriptions.

This little program will TRY and complete each outstanding action
copy automatically. However, the refresh rate time interval when
completing each message varies immensely depending on how many messages
are shown in the list view. Therefore you will have to use the Date
Filter in Mail Manager to reduce the amount of messages shown in the
list, as well as alter the millisecond delay interval in this program to
suit the refresh rate in Mail Manager.
Note: That this will only complete action copies, i.e. messages with
outstanding actions.

Version 4.00 - Updated: 14/10/2010
This hotkey has been designed to
automatically expand the patient record view (F10) when opening each
patient record to see the maximum screen area. It may also be toggled
on/off using RCtrl+F10 or right mouse click on the hotkey icon.
However the view name must contain the word "Max" anywhere in the
view description for it to work.
- Open Consultation Manager select the Consultation menu > Options
> Setup and click on the Patient Record tab
- Highlight your current view and click the Rename button > add
the word Max (which is case sensitive, i.e. capital
M) anywhere into your description.
When the hotkey is active it will automatically show the patient
record in full screen mode, for every patient selected. The user may
change the screen back anytime by clicking F10 on the keyboard as
normal, as it only makes a single change per active patient record. The
script basically reverses the Vision F10 function.
