AHK (AutoHotKey)  Build and Validation Service
for Vision 3 GP Practices in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

As GP sites move to secure hosted environments, they will find they are no longer able to use their AHK scripts. We offer a service to validate your current raw AHK scripts, and compile them into an executable file that will allow them to work safely within the hosted environment.

AHK is a powerful programming application, which is why these scripts cannot be allowed to run unchecked within a secure environment, as that would compromise the stability and security of the system.

Therefore we offer to validate the integrity of each script, to make sure that it does what is intended and nothing more.

Once a script has been verified, tested and approved, it will be compiled into an executable file. This does mean that no further changes can be made to the source code of the initially submitted AHK file. You can still request updates to the script, it just means any further changes have to go through the validation process again.

Lastly, each compiled executable will be signed with a Cegedim digital certificate, that will allow it to run within a Cegedim hosted environment, or any local PC, LAN.

Validation Service

How it works.

1. Complete the Contact form below, to let us know how we can help
2. If the validation service is selected. We will then email you a secure file transfer link, to drop your raw AHK scripts into, so that we may receive them
3. We will then review these and provide an estimate for the work involved to check the source code, test, compile and sign.
   Please note; that it may take up to 2 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) to get back to you. This service is costed at a minimum charge of 1 hour. Our hourly rate is £45.00+VAT. Which means that we will validate as many scripts as we can within each hour.
4. Having reviewed our estimation, you must then agree in writing (i.e. email) for us to proceed.
   Note: If the work takes longer than estimated, we will contact you to ask if you are still happy for us to proceed.
5. Once we have completed the work, we will send you back the validated executable files via a secure file transfer link, and submit our invoice.

NOTE: If an AHK script isn't working as expected when we are validating and testing it, and we don't understand its use or intention, or feel there may be a better alternative method, we will be in contact using the email address provided in the contact form.

Therefore, (if possible) a brief explanation (in a Microsoft Word or pdf format) of each submitted AHK script would be helpful, unless of course there are explanation notes within the source code script. This can be sent using the secure file transfer link we send you.

Once an AHK script has been converted into an executable application and submitted back to you, any further changes you require thereafter to the script will be chargeable at the same rate, as we will have to re-validate, test, compile and sign it again.

Please note that AHK scripts are not intended to be used with Vision Anywhere.

New AHK Applications

We can also write new scripts for you as well. You just need to provide a detailed requirement in writing, explaining exactly what you want it to do.

Remember that AHK is not just for mimicking keyboard commands, you can create some very useful mini-apps, of which some examples are freely available on this website.

Copyright Notice

You will retain the copyright of all your own submitted AHK source code, and we will not share or disclose the source code to any other party/organisation without your knowledge or permission. We are happy to sign any submitted NDAs should you wish to further protect your own source code.

However, if we (TailorMade Info' Tech' Solutions Ltd) write the source code for a submitted or requested application, we will retain ownership and copyright of the source code, while you retain the copyright of the application.

Disclaimer

We will not change any of the AHK source code you provide (unless instructed by you). Therefore, when using our services you acknowledge that we will not be held responsible for how the final application functions once compiled into an executable application. The expectation sits solely with the provider of the AHK script(s) submitted, knowing that they are correct at the time they have been given to us to validate, test, compile and sign.

If we are able to spot errors while validating and testing we will contact you to discuss how you wish to proceed.

In using any of these AHK applications you hereby acknowledge that the software cannot be guaranteed error free, and further acknowledge that the existence of any such errors shall not make TailorMade Information Technology Solutions Ltd responsible for any actions you carry out based on the processes of each AHK application, or for any financial loss of revenue.

You also acknowledge that these AHK applications may be dependent on other applications such as the Vision 3 medical software application, and subject to failing due to updates made by the main supplier, and we are therefore not responsible for any failing.

Any additional corrections to the source code will be chargeable at the normally hourly rate. 

In reference to the Vision 3 medical software; AHK applications are intended to aid and supplement, not substitute for, the expertise and judgement of physicians, pharmacists or other healthcare professionals. All information is provided on the basis that the healthcare practitioners responsible for patient care will retain full and sole responsibility for deciding any treatment to prescribe or dispense for all patients and, in particular whether the use of information provided by the application is safe, appropriate, or effective for any particular patient or in any particular circumstances.
